A ruptured sewage pipe in Holyoke, Massachusetts, spilled unknown amounts of raw sewage into the Connecticut River this week. The break happened underground Monday, on a steep embankment north of the Holyoke Dam.

Attorney Andrea Harrington will be the next district attorney of Berkshire County. The current DA, Paul Caccaviello, did not concede the election until Wednesday. 

A new film about a hidden World War II-era archive, created in secret by Jews living in Warsaw, is showing in western Massachusetts. "Who Will Write Our History" is based on a book by Trinity College historian Samuel Kassow.

In Massachusetts, it didn't take a wave to turn the state's representation in Congress blue. But the all-Democrat Congressional delegation might be poised to take advantage of the Republican washout in ways few other state delegations can.
