Looking for something you can do for Earth Day tomorrow? How about a scavenger hunt...for the sake of science. Anyone with a smartphone can help track invasive species --- from Asian Longhorned Beetles to Zebra Mussels, across Massachusetts. New England Public Radio's Julia Botero went for a walk in the woods with UMass Amherst's Charles Schweik and biologist Jennifer Fish from the Massachusetts Department of Conservation to try out their new new Outsmart Invasive Species app.
Scientists will use the information to map invasive species, and then devise combat strategies. To learn more information about the app, you can go to the project's website at http://masswoods.net/outsmart.
