William Baczek Fine Arts, in Northampton, Massachusetts will be presenting a exhibition of selected pastels from the estate of Mallory Lake. The show will be on display from Wednesday, November 21 until Saturday, December 22, 2017. The public is invited to an opening reception on Saturday, November 24 from five to seven p.m. Mallory Lake was one an inaugural artist at William Baczek Fine Arts and began showing her pastels with William Baczek when he opened his gallery over twenty-one years ago. She continued to create new work up until her passing in July 2017. Her passion for travel and love for Tuscany, Italy became her signature subject matter but she explored other subjects as well, including botanical studies, urban landscapes and an ongoing series of atmospheric steam train images. This exhibition will present pastels from the past twenty years and include examples of the Italian series as well as work from the series of steam trains and urban landscapes of New York and Mexico. Future exhibition of work from the estate will present monoprints and photographs as well as other pastels that the artist created in her lifetime.
