New England Public Radio will begin accepting nominations for the 2019 New England Public Radio Arts & Humanities Awards on January 2, 2019. Established by the NEPR Foundation, Inc. in 2008, the NEPR Arts & Humanities Awards recognize those who have made a positive impact on the arts and humanities and bring awareness to the critical role played by musicians, artists, dancers, writers, teachers and cultural institutions in western New England. Last year, the award honored The Literacy Project; poet and founder of Springfield's Teatro V!da, Magdalena Goìmez and music director of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, Carolyn Kuan. It also celebrated David Tebaldi, Executive Director of Mass Humanities with the first ever "Lifetime Achievement" Arts & Humanities Award.
If you’d like to nominate a person or organization in western New England who you feel deserves the award, we invite you to fill out the brief nomination form. All nominations must be received by January 30, 2019.
Members of the New England Public Radio Foundation, Inc. will review all nominations and select recipients in February. Recipients will be celebrated at the Arts & Humanities Awards Celebration in May.
