Oil Pipeline Company Asks Federal Court To Overturn Ruling On South Portland Law

Lawyers for the Portland Pipeline Corp. have appealed a federal court decision that effectively blocks it from piping oil south from Canada to Maine.

A ruptured sewage pipe in Holyoke, Massachusetts, spilled unknown amounts of raw sewage into the Connecticut River this week. The break happened underground Monday, on a steep embankment north of the Holyoke Dam.
