A panel of regulators from Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts voted Friday to put a three-year moratorium on the commercial fishery for Northern Shrimp, also known as Maine shrimp. Maine's representatives at the meeting in Portland wanted some type of season preserved, but they were outnumbered.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is updating the public at a meeting in Lenox, Massachusetts, Wednesday on water sampling near the former General Electric plant in Pittsfield.

Across New York City, more than 70 restaurants are tossing their oyster shells not into the trash or composting pile, but into the city's eroded harbor. It's all part of Billion Oyster Project's restaurant shell-collection program.

An offshore wind developer based in Rhode Island is being acquired by the Danish offshore wind company, Ørsted. 

General Electric has booted out its chairman and chief executive, John Flannery, after a little more a year on the job, amid declining profits and cash-flow problems.

Flannery will be replaced by H. Lawrence Culp, a current GE board member who served as chief executive of the Washington, D.C.-based conglomerate Danaher Corp. from 2000-2014, GE said.
