About half of New England’s households are on septic systems. That’s the highest proportion in the country.

Pawtucket Mayor Donald Grebien says time is running out to strike a deal with the PawSox and keep the baseball team in Rhode Island. Grebien said that if lawmakers fail to approve the latest proposal on the table, Pawtucket is ready to take matters into its own hands.

Nearly three months after Hurricane Maria, parts of Puerto Rico are showing clear signs of recovery. But in Vieques, a remote island with nearly 9,000 residents eight miles off the main island's coast, recovery is a long way off. There, some live in dingy conditions as they wait for help to rebuild, while others gather what they can to do it themselves.

A major landmark in Springfield, Massachusetts, the Peter Pan Bus Terminal, will become the new home of Way Finders, an affordable housing nonprofit. The bus company now operates out of Union Station.
